David Ortiz

World Series MVP
A 10-time All-Star, David Ortiz will retire as one of the most prolific offensive players in Red Sox history. In 19 Major League seasons, his Hall of Fame resume includes over 500 home runs and three World Series titles, accomplishments matched only by Babe Ruth and Reggie Jackson. Loved by fans and teammates, and admired by opponents, Ortiz helped Boston end its 86-year championship drought in 2004, won again in 2007 and took home the World Series MVP in 2013. Ortiz began his career with the Minnesota Twins, who released him in 2002. Five weeks later, he signed with the Red Sox and went on to become one of the city's most popular athletes of all-time. Enjoying one of his most productive seasons at the age of 40, Ortiz will be immortalized alongside the likes of Bobby Orr, Ted Williams, Larry Bird and Tom Brady. But there is only one Big Papi.
