This awards banquet is The Daily Light's way of saying thank you to the thousands of outstanding high school athletes, coaches, and fans who allow us to share their stories, performances and passions.

Presented by The Daily Light and sponsored by Methodist Midlothian Medical Center, this event honors high school athletes all over the county. Awards will be presented to the Outstanding Player of the Year in each sport, as well as Male Athlete of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year, and Coach of the Year. Special Guest

Sean Lee

Dallas Cowboys Linebacker
While playing football at Penn State during his junior year, Sean Lee was second team all Big Ten, finishing second on the team in tackles with 138 and had a season high 17 tackles versus Illinois, and registered more than 10 tackles in all but three games. In April of 2008, just after that season, Lee tore his ACL in his right knee. Despite having to take a medical redshirt for the 2008 season, Lee's teammates elected him a team captain that season. While recovering, Lee chose to serve as an undergraduate assistant coach and participated in every practice, and wore a headset on the sidelines during games that season.

The Dallas Cowboys selected Lee in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. During his first season in the NFL, he earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week and Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week honors for his performance against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts, where he recorded his first two interceptions of his pro career.

In 2017, Lee was ranked 79th on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2017 and just recently announced he will be returning for his 9th season with the Dallas Cowboys.
