40 Under Forty Award Criteria - All nominees must be employed in a position or own a businesses in St. Johns County.

-Young Professional of the Year - This award is for a young professional who exemplifies overall outstanding leadership, professional accomplishments and service to the community. This nominee should be regarded as a model for professionals in the St. John's area.

- Local Government Professional Award -This award is for a young professional who is employed by local, state or federal government and exudes strong leadership, professionalism and involved in local organization to better our community.

- Private Sector Professional Award- This award is for a young professional who is employed in the Private Sector who exudes strong leadership, professionalism and involved in local organization to better our community. This nominee should be regarded as a model in the private sector in the St. John's area.

-Non-Profit Professional Award - This award is for a young professional who is employed in the non-profit sector and who exudes strong leadership and professionalism. This person is dedicated to furthering a particular social cause or advocating for a shared point of view.

- Small Business Professional Award - This award is for a young professional who is employed by, owner or manager of a small business which is defined by having less than 50 employees. This nominee should exude leadership and professionalism with strong community involvement.

- Civic Leader Award - This award is for a young professional who shows outstanding volunteer and community involvement. Volunteer hours and specific projects noted in nomination form scored high and exemplifies a true change agent to make our community a better place.

- Most Charitable Young Professional Award - This award is for a young professional who shows outstanding volunteerism and community involvement. This individual provides exceptional support to both monetary and volunteering service to local non for profit organizations.

- Rising Star Award - This award is for a young professional who is employed by a local business within Volusia/Flagler, or the owner of a local business. This nominee is new to their profession and shows strong leadership and professionalism. This young professional also shows strong community involvement.
